  1. Sorry about your son, my dear. I was my Mother’s sole caregiver & her last month of life, I had to administer liquid morphine every 2 hrs. My sleep clock was completely turned off. I live in rural AL & my primary doctor just throws sleeping benzodiazopines at me on a monthly basis. I have heard horror stories regarding these meds as I am 77yo. I do not drink alcohol & melatonin does still not work, as have tried increased dosages with no success over months of time. I practice Yoga 2-3 times a day & have no stress known to me. I tried CBD, that over time didn’t help me either. I am told that they have cannabis products that include THC which could help me greatly but that is illegal in my state of AL. Can you think of any protocol that I could at least “try”. Seems I have reached a dead end.

    1. Sorry for my late reply. I can’t really comment on personal cases if the person is not my client. But I see this a lot, CBD works for some and not for others. And melatonin is often a hit or miss. One thing I would do diligently is get sunshine outside for about 15 minutes every morning after waking up (no sunglasses) and dim lights at home around sunset (no overhead lights, no bright lights). Avoid screens at night or wear blue blocking glasses. This helps reset your circadian rhythm over time. Also, no alarm clock in the bedroom. When you wake up at night, it doesn’t matter what time it is.
      If all of that will not help, it might make sense to look at your gut health and hormones to see what is going on internally that is driving your cortisol up at the wrong time of the day.
